Extra Credit

It can be a great motivator for some (most?) students. Do we have anything like this in real life? What about in business?
Can we have something like an extra credit system in a business?
We need to consider what Alex Hansen said about extra credit and how to earn it. (He felt like everyone should have equal chances at earning extra credit, but the only way to earn extra credit in his class was to speak up, and he feels uncomfortable speaking up in class. Is that fair? Is there a better way?)

Huffington Post: Have American Parents Got it all Backwards?

Note: I don't think you should frustrate a child on purpose (See Ephesians 6:4) but I think it's valuable to allow a child to be frustrated for a bit and not jump in to rescue them. (Easier said than done, but that's true of most of this article.)
